First crane for Arctic LNG-2 project awaiting shipment

July 8, 2020

The first of five bridge cranes manufactured by Tyazhmash JSC for the Arktik LNG-2 gas production project has passed the final stage of production. In May the product was handed over to the customer’s representatives, and now the crane beams, dismantled and packaged, are waiting to be shipped.

Some parts of the equipment to simplify installation were prepared for shipment in the most enlarged form, and an important task was to determine the optimal way of transportation. After considering several options, the mechanism of transportation proposed by the specialists of “Tyazhmash” JSC was chosen. It provides transportation of cargo in working position with installation on a special metal frame, the parameters of which correspond to the size of vehicles. Such position is not only safe for the equipment on the way but also economically advantageous. Other parts of the crane, including trolleys and beam sections (the largest elements), are packaged in a standard way: using plywood shields and wooden covers. In total, the equipment will take up to 84 cargo places.

In the meantime, production of a second similar product is being completed. The bridge of the future crane and the auxiliary trolley have already been manufactured. They have overcome the stage of control assembly and delivery to the customer. The main hoist trolley is currently undergoing the same procedure. In July, the plant workers will start the delivery and packaging of the entire product.
