An important stage in the fulfillment of the order for the Irkutskaya HPP has been completed

March 3, 2020

Assembly and machining of the units of the second propeller-type hydroelectric unit for the Irkutskaya HPP is being continued at Tyazhmash JSC. The work is being implemented as part of the reconstruction carried out for the first time in 60 years of the station’s existence. In the course of this reconstruction it is planned to completely replace the equipment.

The first set of products manufactured in Syzran was delivered to the Angara coast last year ahead of schedule. Starting from October, the equipment will be mounted on the hydroelectric unit of the plant № 2, which is planned to be put into operation in the third quarter of 2020.

The second turbine to replace the hydroelectric unit at st. No 1 is expected to be shipped in the second half of this year. Some units were manufactured by the end of 2019. Now the installation of draft tube cone lining and embeded pipelines, as well as platforms and stairs in the shaft pit and monorail installation have been packed and are ready for shipment. By the end of February the electric installation kit and the installation of servomotors will be produced. This equipment will be needed first of all for the installation of the new hydroelectric unit.

In workshop No. 17 the production cycle of the runner chamber is finished. Acceptance of the machined inner surface of this large component took place in early February. A representative of the customer — LLC “EUROSIBPOWER-HYDROGENERATION” — came to the plant from Irkutsk for the acceptance procedure. After successful checking of the geometric shape of the chamber installation, the product was found suitable for further processing, packaging and shipping.

In the nearest future the specialists of Tyazhmash JSC will assemble the main and most complicated components of the turbine: runner, shaft and wicket gate. The latter is the most labor-intensive element of equipment. The assembly of runner blades, levers and guide vanes is also planned.
