Production of the first crane for the Arctic LNG-2 project is almost completed

November 27, 2019

At the end of November JSC TYAZHMASH entered the final stage of controlled assembly of the first of five cranes with 300 tons lifting capacity, manufactured by order of PJSC Uralmashzavod for OOO NOVATEK-Murmansk within the framework of Arctic LNG-2 project. The metal structures of the bridge occupied almost the entire span of the plant’s workshop: their width is 24 meters and length is 63 meters.

The assembly was divided into two stages. The first — an intermediate — was completed in early November: both main crane beams were placed with reduced trolley tracks on a technological device simulating the frames of balancing groups.

The second stage, carried out only for the first product from the order and including the assembly of the crane bridge, took place at the end of the month. Representatives of PJSC Uralmashzavod and PJSC NOVATEK visited the plant to take part in acceptance tests. The customers highly appreciated the quality of the bridge design and assembly, and also noted the wide technological capabilities of the plant. It is planned that work on the first crane will be completed by the end of 2019. The final step is to paint the disassembled product and prepare it for shipment.

For reference

A consortium of crane equipment manufacturers under the management of PJSC Uralmashzavod was established in early 2019 to implement the UZTM contract for the production of 64 bridge cranes with lifting capacities ranging from 10 to 300 tons for NOVATEK-Murmansk, which is implementing the large-scale Arctic LNG 2 project. It includes the largest manufacturers of lifting and transportation equipment, such as Uralmashzavod, TYAZHMASH, Production Company ASK. All cranes will be shipped to the customer by July 2020.
