Mills are designed for grinding up to pulverized condition of black coals, semi-anthracites, lean coals and some cleaning rejects in fuel preparation systems at thermal power plants, as well as raw materials grinding for cement industry.

Mill main drive electric motor with the help of cou¬pling and gearbox rotates the grinding table fixed on the gear box faceplate. The coal entering by the sep¬arator central pipe to the grinding table, under the action of centrifugal forces, arising at the table rotating, is rejected to the periphery and gets under the grinding rolls which begin to rotate.

The grinding process occurs basically by crushing (under the action of grinding rolls weight and the force created by the pressing system) and partly by detrition (due to different peripheral speeds of the rolls and the grinding table).

The product of milling process – pulverized (raw) coal – shall be removed from the milling area to the separator by drying-ventilating agent flow supplied to the mill body and swirled by a nozzle ring. In separator, the large frac¬tions are separated and returned to the grinding table for regrinding. Through the outlet branch pipe of the separator the finished pulverized coal is removed by the air stream to a pulverized-coal distributor and then by pulverized-coal ducts to the boiler burners. Through the separator outlet branch pipe the raw powder is removed to the pulverized-coal duct and further to the coal pulverization line. The fineness of grinding is adjusted by turning of separator blades.
